antics, and she doesn’t seem to care. Raquel lives life on her own terms and
doesn’t answer to anyone, least of all Clayton Cox, the guy charged with making
her a media darling. His take charge attitude is a problem for strong-willed
Raquel, but she can’t deny the attraction she feels toward him.

Racquel Adams ist eine der
drei „Misses“. Während ihre
Freundinnen als „Miss Congeniality“
und „Miss Hollywood“ betitelt werden,
wird sie aufgrund ihrer Eskapaden „Miss
Man-Eater“ genannt. Das könnte allerdings nicht weiter von der Wahrheit
entfernt sein. Denn während ihr die Presse allerlei Affären andichtet, hat
Racquel kein Liebesleben. Nicht aus Mangel an Anwärtern, sondern da
sie 1. von ihrem bisher einzigen Freund als schlechte Liebhaberin abgestempelt
wurde und 2. ihre autoritäre und beinahe fanatisch religiöse Mutter ihre Kinder
für jedes schamlose „Vergehen“ bestraft hat. Jetzt als Erwachsene tut Racquel
daher was sie will und nutzt ihren Ruf als „tease“
aus, ohne je wirklich weiter zu gehen. Um Racquels Ruf zu korrigieren
und ihre Schauspielkarriere zu retten, wird ihr Clayton Cox zur Seite gestellt.
Er ist der erste Mann, der Racquel reizt und sie versucht alles, um ihn zu
verführen. Doch um ihr zu zeigen, wer hier der Boss ist, ignoriert er ihre
Avancen und spielt nach seinen Regeln. Allerdings schafft er es nicht lange,
ihr zu widerstehen.
Sowohl Racquel als auch
Clayton haben mich nicht wirklich überzeugt. Ich konnte zu beiden keine wirkliche
Verbindung aufbauen und ihre Handlungen teilweise nicht nachvollziehen. Auch fand
ich die gesamte Geschichte holprig und abgehackt. Das Drama, das eigentlich gar
keines war, wirkte stereotyp und konstruiert. Lustig waren allerdings Racquels
und Claytons Auseinandersetzungen. An der Reihe bleibe ich dennoch weiter dran,
denn die Überraschung am Ende macht mich neugierig auf Clares aka „Miss Hollywoods" Geschichte.
